While Furoshiki is synonymous with meaningful simplicity, our Japanese Furoshiki gives you an elegant, sustainable wrap to inspire your next gift or project.
WHAT IT IS:
Furoshiki is the fabric used in the Japanese art of fabric wrapping. furoshiki have many purposes and are a simple, sustainable alternative to single-use plastic and gift wrap. No ordinary fabric, furoshiki is strong and durable enough to carry items but also soft enough to wear. Use a furoshiki to wrap or carry a bottle, transport groceries, make a face mask, wear as a headband or scarf, frame and display as art, or wrap a gift or special keepsake.
WHY IT'S KIREI:
Typical gift wrap is made from hard-to-recycle material, which is why large amounts of gift wrap end up in a landfill every year. Furoshiki, on the other hand, is a perfect sustainable gift wrap or decoration that can be reused time and time again.
Step 1 – Lay furoshiki out flat. Place present in the center. Step 2 – Fold the bottom left corner over present. Step 3 – Fold the top right corner over the present. Step 4 – Tie the top left and bottom right corners together. Step 5 – Tie corners again to create a square knot. See below for details.
